The Best Barista Coffee Shops in Cornwall: My Café & Road Trip Guide

Part of a really good day, for me, is sitting down in a nice café with a coffee in hand. But here comes the important part: coffee is not just coffee. It has to look the part – yes, I’m talking latte art – and it has to taste good too. That smooth but rich flavour is what I mean.

I spent over a month in Cornwall over the summer, and this is my honest round-up of the best coffee shops I found. They all serve genuinely good coffee. Some come with amazing coastal views, others are tucked into the green. And the best part: every single one can be built into a little road trip and a short walk, so you get the coffee and the scenery.

To make this a proper Cornwall coffee guide, I’ve added parking info and an activity suggestion for each spot, so you can make the most of your coffee trip.

Gwithian

Lula Shack is nestled between the sand dunes leading up to Godrevy Point. It has that bright, boho, surfer kind of vibe. It’s the perfect place for a late-morning coffee, book in one hand, sea breeze on your face, the soft ocean sounds in the distance. There’s both indoor and outdoor seating, and it’s dog friendly.

Pair it with: a walk out to Godrevy Point, where you’ll spot the lighthouse and, if you’re lucky, a few seals popping their heads out of the water. It’s also a lovely opportunity to enjoy Gwithian Beach – whether that’s just from the viewpoint or on a proper stroll along the sand.

Parking: There’s free parking on Churchtown Road before you turn in towards Lula Shack, or paid parking right next to the café – 3 hours for £5 (July 2026).

Lizard

Wavecrest Café

Stunning views paired with a really good coffee – that’s Wavecrest in Lizard. The café sits right at the top of a cliff, looking straight out over the open Atlantic, and there’s indoor and outdoor seating so it works in any weather. If you’re patient, you can watch seals swimming through the kelp and surfacing every now and then. Wavecrest is dog friendly too.

Pair it with: a walk towards Pentreath Beach along the cliffs. It’s also worth heading down the hill right by the café – there’s a little pebble beach and a couple of art shops down there.

Parking: There’s donation-based parking a bit further up the road (have cash with you) before you reach the paid Lizard Point Short Term Car Park – 1 hour for £2 (July 2026).

Extra tip: Around 10 minutes away by car (with free parking) is Ella’s Soul Kitchen. It’s honestly the cutest place. A little caravan powered purely by solar and wind serving mediterranean food like halloumi pita and pulled jackfruit tacos. I’m veggie, so those are the ones I can vouch for, and they’re so good. You eat out in the garden, surrounded by fields and green.

Falmouth & Around

The Cornish Barista

Another gem. This one sits with a view over the quarryside. As the name suggests, you get proper barista coffee here. The setup is really cute: you can watch the ziplining and adventures happening across the quarry, or maybe plan your own after a coffee. It’s a great little stop to fold into a trip to Falmouth, or if you’re heading further south towards the Lizard. The Cornish Barista is dog friendly.

The Workshop Café

The Workshop Café is a top spot for great coffee, treats and lunch and it’s one of the best coworking cafés in Cornwall. They’re really laptop- and digital-nomad-friendly. It’s in the heart of Penryn, so you can combine it with a trip to Falmouth or just explore Penryn itself. Lovely atmosphere, and dog friendly.

Redruth & Around

[HUB] Café @ FibreHub

I’ll be honest: this one isn’t the most scenic, as it’s in one of the more business/industrial areas near Redruth. But the coffee is good, so if you’re in the area or passing through, it’s worth stopping for. [HUB] Café is part of the FibreHub coworking space in Redruth. This is also a great one for remote workers looking for good internet in Redruth.

Extra tip: The Grow Box Café is a super cute little coffee shop in Camborne. The coffee isn’t a 10/10 and the latte art depends on the day but the vibe and the food are why it earns a place on this list. If you’re after healthy food, this is the one: pick a quiche (a vegan option is usually possible) and pair it with a few of their homemade salads. They also do cake and sweet treats.

Tehidy Woods

Woods Café

Tehidy Woods is a beautiful little forest near Gwithian. It’s an amazing spot for a run or just a walk under the trees – there is so many squirrels! It’s an easy one to pair with a coffee at Woods Café, which serves drinks, sweet treats and a daily lunch special. You can sit indoors (cosy) or, when the weather plays along, out in the plenty of outdoor seating. This place is very dog friendly.

Pair it with: a loop through the woodland trails before or after your coffee.

Portreath

Jay Bird Deli

Portreath is a little sleepy, touristy town with a beautiful beach, wrapped in cliffs. In the town centre you’ll find Jay Bird Deli. It’s a super cute café serving barista coffee, breakfast and lunch, and it’s dog friendly. You should definitely pair your visit with a stroll along the beach.

Make a Day of It
